if you're going to san francisco

Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
hope you meet some gentle people there

May the wind take your troubles away
Pedal to the floor, two hands on the wheel
may the wind take your troubles away . .
as you go . . .

From the kentucky coalmines to the california sun,

So glad you've made up your mind to make a new start,
even if you're going with an aching in your heart

What lies ahead, i have no way of knowing
but its time to move on, time to get going

Dont stop thinking about tommorrow,
dont stop it'll soon be here
it'll be, better than before
yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone
why not think about the times to come,
and not about the things that you've done

on crossing the border
a) pretend you're in the opening credits of the oc
we've been on the run
driving in the sun
looking out for #1
California here we come
right back where we started from
b) ala joni mitchell
california i'm coming home
oh will you take me as i am
strung out on another man
california i'm coming home

promise me you'll always remember:
You're braver than you believe,
and stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think.
-christopher robin to pooh

me, im going to live vicariously through you
cause i'll be california dreamin
so obviously this is made up of lyrics, bits n pieces of songs
someday i'll have my own
remember
when the music changes, so does the dance

new question

ok how can you be 'tagged' if you didnt even know you were playing? as any kid will tell you thats so against the rules

1. Do you try to look hot when you go to the grocery store just in case someone recognizes you from your blog?
i always look hot. especially when i've cycled in the wind and rain to get to the shops . . . which are closed.
2. Are the photos you post Photoshopped or otherwise altered?
computers dislike me enough i wouldnt trust them with my picture. after all it is part of my soul
3. Do you like it when creeps or dorks email you?
creeps? no cause its well . . . dorks are alrite, not in the blue whale sense, which as someone who majored in biology, i never ever heard/used 'dork' in that way. not that i would question the urban dictionary
4. Do you lie in your blog?
no i really am that dull
5. Are you passive-aggressive in your blog?
if you dont know, well then, why should i tell you?
6. Do you delete mean comments?
if they're really mean
7. Have you ever rubbed one out while reading a blog?
have you ever noticed how fearless people are about asking personal questions when its on the internet?
and god no guys are so gross sometimes
8. Do you have a job?
hah. job? thats something parents and other people seem to talk about alot
9. If someone offered you a decent salary to blog full-time without restrictions, would you do it?
er no. computer screens do give out radiation! carpal tunnel sucks! would go mad if had to sit on my ass that long everyday
10. Does your family read your blog?
dont think so. probably better for it. but they're probably laughing at this right now.
11. How old is your blog?
eh 2 months or something? babysteps folks
12. Do you get more than 1000 page views per day? Do you care?
page views? not familiar with that. probably good cause would end up checking obsessively. does it include the number of times you view your own blog?
13. Do you have another secret blog in which you write about being depressed, slutty, or a liar?
no secret blog. what is the point of a secret blog? cant people still find it? so secretly you do want people to read it?
14. Is blogging narcissistic?
not at all the whole world needs to know whats going on in my life
15. Do you feel guilty when you don't post for a long time?
yeah cause its the only way to stay in touch with some people who dont believe in email even though that means i have to try to figure out who on earth is fridge boy and i cant use names and damnit email people
16. Do you like John Mayer?
i did, but sounds cheesy now, does that make me a bad or good person?
17. Do you have enemies?
not that i know of . . . . but that would explain alot
18. Are you lonely?
with me, myself and i around? a la almost famous, just go into a record store (book store works too)
19. Why bother?
detest that question. if so apathetic, why ask? certainly shouldnt care about the response
much prefer how can you not do anything?

so

ireland didnt make it. damn swiss. i mean to be beaten by a country of what, accountants and clockmakers? though really the talent the irish team needed just wasn't there. i doubt ireland woulda gone far if they had made it. but it will make next summer a little sadder. i'll have to find another underdog to root for.

ack have exam on friday. i just want to do perfectly on it. normally wouldn't get so worked up about an mcq-multiple choice questions, but im determined this time. didn't go out this weekend at all. feel much better for it. did get down a bit cause i received 0 txts or phone calls. had to convince myself that even if people had been in touch to get me to go out, the answer would be no. only to find out that ppl couldn't text me and my texts haven't been sending since like wednesday. and ok if they're 'sending in progress' am i still charged? do i only get charged if the texts make it?

watched sin city last night. it was so cool! ok the graphics and all that stuff, pretty violent film, made me squirm ok there has to be a better word, cause i hate that word, but there were scenes that made me want to turn away. weird plot. but the graphics were really cool, just something so different from what else is out there.

ok gotta go short break between lectures and im starving. woke up late and had to cycle like a madwoman to get here em well just a little late. lovely lecture about candida, which as a female, i already know about.

ireland has to win tonight! playing switzerland, duff & keane out, and if we dont win, there's no chance. theres also a bunch of other different possibilities depending on how the other matches go but complicated.
right must go, match'll be on in a couple hours and gotta study first.

randomn thoughts

"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." George Orwell

Did you know that
The Celtic cross was really a Neolithic mathematical protractor used for surveying , time keeping, astronomy and navigation.
the church, true masters of spin

In 1954
William Golding wrote a story about a group of less-than-wise souls whose belief and trust in rationality and the rule of law breaks down and who end up living in fear of an incorporeal beast lorded over by a tyrannical 'leader' who believes in the rule of force.

John Steinbeck observed in the 1930's that each successive US President needed to be less and less intelligent in order to cope with the increasingly appalling contradictory decisions to be made

the notion that war is a necessary condition for preserving general social cohesion. The problem with this theory is that there can never be a time of peace; an enemy must always be created if none exists. It also sends a message to the "enemy" that there is no room for settling manners in a diplomatic manner, but only certain defeat and annihilation awaits them.

have you smiled today?

this is how! arent these cutest ever? all together at once, aawwhh

october?

ok when did it get to be october? are there really only 2 (and some) months left till 2006?
is it really getting close to that time of year when i have to contemplate again how much my chronological age does not match my mental/emotional one?
and what is the deal with oktoberfest being over on the 3rd of october?
im loving what im studying now, partially cause its so interesting, partially cause i know its the last term of lectures and exams
bad thing is that i hit my head and with all my new knowledge of head trauma . . . . well yeah i really freaked myself out, every possible worse case scenario.
huge bump, dont think will have anything more from it than 2 black eyes. overcast weather here really isnt working with my desire to wear sunglasses
its dark at 7pm! and its only going to get earlier and earlier
anyways came across this quote

"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost......" J.R.R. Tolkein

unrelated tolkein tale; past weekend bro took it upon himself to try and watch all 3 lord of the ring movies in one sitting. serious job but somebodys got to do it. kills me is that he's never read the books
saw trailer for new harry potter looks good and cant wait for chronicles of narnia

last movies i saw at documentary film festival were genesis and a social genocide
a social genocide about argentina, whats happened since the end of the dictatorship
v. depressing, imf and world bank, multi-international companies, globalization, privatization
genesis about life on the other hand, the beauty of it. like in nature one and one equals three. so so so great. gotta find on dvd or something. even better were the kids in the audience who were laughing and enjoying it. biology is cool

Mr. Darcy

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
and so begins one of my favorite books ever. id forgotten how much i loved it, till the release of the movie, promised myself i would re-read before seeing it
and its such a good book!! Something that is timeless. i dont know how much of what ive read recently would last 2 centuries from now.
not that the passage of time, should in and of itself be a criteria for whether or not a work is worthy of perusal., (spelling?)
some things i hold in affection for the mere reason that they remind of me of days long gone by
ie the beastie boys. every time i hear ill communication, im away, in a different time, when the major complication was well, em there was no complications.
life was good. at the time id no idea of how things would turn out,
about the obstacles facing me and everyone, self-created and otherwise.
so im brought back to a time of innocence? no i was hardly innocent. just a different time.
did i know what beastie boys were all about? not really as we'd deemed mtv 'too rap'
and decided we'd watch vh1 till we realized how bad vh1 was,
talkin kenny whats-his-face, muzak
pathetic hello ok early 90's i know mistakes were made . . . ;)
clothes still horribly horribly wrong, ppl trying to tell me to tight roll or something my jeans, the claw bangs
hip hop wasnt mainstream yet, white kids in the suburbs werent pretendin
i remember the first time i heard jeremy by pearl jam
and this be backwater kentucky
just like the first time i remember my best friend talkin bout trying heroin
i was stoned
but somehow ah who am i to judge?
whats the difference between choosing a drug thats gonna treat you like shit,
and choosing men that are going to do the same thing?
or being so insecure to be unable to say 'no' to either?
spirit destroyers. still believe that murder of spirit/soul, different level to murdering the body
teenagers, man, called so because the teenage brain is not completely developed
not the same as an adults.
short message:i cant deal with kids being tried as adults

ah one of my fav songs, sabotage

i cant stand it
i know you planned it

anyways ramblin on to who? who's gonna read? who's gonna care?
heartache of my life that i couldna give my experience to my sisters
that i couldnt protect them,
but i know my mind, so in a weird way i know their's
and no i'd never be content with someone else's recollection
gotta experience it for myself
whole banging head against a concrete wall thing
listen to me now or listen to me later
technically im as hard as steel
like ma bell i got the ill communication
ok time to sleep enough rambling for the mo, plus well just its time

3 rooms

longing
breathing
remembering
the 3 rooms of melancholia

sorry saw documentary with title
life is harsh
kids under storm
nicks at a part of me
